About the Role
Accounts Assistant - Central London (Head Office)
Hybrid working - (4 days in / 1 day out)
A well established organisation based in London is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to support its finance function. This is a busy, hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys working with high volumes across both accounts receivable and payable.
The role will support day to day financial operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely processing of supplier payments, robust reconciliations, and effective query management. You will also assist with month end, year end, and audit processes, playing a key part in maintaining strong cash flow and financial controls.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and issuing accurate sales invoices in line with customer agreements
- Processing supplier invoices and weekly payment runs
- Managing employee expense payments
- Performing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining cash trackers
- Handling finance inbox queries and resolving discrepancies
- Producing basic reporting on invoicing, cash collection, and aged debt
- Supporting month end, year end, and audit activity
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience across accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Strong reconciliation experience particularly bank receipts and payments
- Ability to manage high volume workloads and meet tight deadlines
- A solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Good systems exposure with experience using Xero and or QuickBooks advantageous
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
